なにしろ、こっちはバイト代わりにオークションをやっているわけだから
売り物にならないものを落札するのは不良在庫を招き高コスト体質の原因となる。
だから、売れるものだと思って落札したのに実際の商品がさっぱり売り物にならない場合は
激しく抗議して返金してもらい、その損失を最小にする工夫をしなければならないのだ。

なぜこんな話が出てきたかというと、今日そういう場面があったから。

Molecular Biology of the Cellをamazonマーケットプレイスで中古で購入したんだけれど、
送られてきたのは一つ前の版。
分子生物学はゲノムとか遺伝子工学とかの今をときめく学問であるがゆえに
版が一つ異なるだけで記載内容がぜんぜん違っていて、
古い版だとほとんど商品価値がない。
それを第4版と思って高値掴みさせられたので、怒ったのだ。

結局は返送・返金ということになったが
500㌔も離れたところの知らない人と電話で激しく口論したのは初めての経験だ。
電話は向こうからかけてきたので僕の財布はいたまないが
相手さんは電話代だけでもずいぶんとかかった上に往復の送料までかかって
ずいぶんと損をしたに違いない。

扱っている書籍と、大学城下町でもある地名からして相手さんも学生だろう。
大学生か大学院生かわからないけれど、
経済的・時間的・そして心の衛生状態からしても
お互いにずいぶんとマイナスな取引をしてしまった。

僕もヤフオクで以前、相手が大学城下町だったことがあります。
その時はメール送ったのですが全く返事が来なくて。
で、アドレスがモロに某国立大の生徒用アドレスだったので
「もしかしたら帰省されていますか？」云々をメールで連絡。
すると４０日後くらいに「実家に帰省していました」なんていう返答が・・・。

40日間も帰省ですかｗ。完全に放置されていたわけですね。

僕のほうは月曜には返金の振込みがあり、僕が返送した本も月曜に到着したはずです。事件発生が金曜日～土曜日だったので、解決には時間が掛からなかったほうかと思います。

ところで、その出品者から「もうアマゾンで本を売るのは辞めます。今回の件で懲りました。本業に専念することにします」というメールを最後に頂きました。そんなに僕は嫌がられたのかと思うと少しウツ入る（'･ω･`）
