年賀状印刷ソフトはそれぞれがそれぞれ利点を備えているので好みの物を買えばよいが、僕個人としては「筆まめ」をオススメする。Excelから住所を取り込んで印刷する機能、本文のデザインテンプレートやカスタマイズ機能などがこなれていてさすが年賀状ソフトの人気ランキングNo.1に毎年名を載せるだけのことはある。干支などのデザインは12種類入っているので毎年買い換える必要がないのも利点だ。年賀状ソフトの中にはその年1回限りしか対応してくれない不親切なものもあるのでこのあたりのチェックはしっかりしておきたい。

住所録はできることなら一度本格的にExcelなどで作り上げてしまいたい。一度作ってしまえば来年も確実に使えるからだ。重要なのは、「2005年は年賀状を送ったかどうか」「同受け取ったかどうか」「喪中」などをチェックしておくこと。これがあるとないとで来年の終わりに2006年の年賀状を印刷する手間が軽減される。

年賀状は一年に数度しか合わないような友人や親戚とも連絡を取れる貴重な手段。面倒くさいのは確かだけれども、年賀状を全く送らないと言うのはあまりにも寂しい。たまには年賀状を時間に追われながらではなくじっくり準備して書いてみてはどうだろうか？
