カスタマイズ 分かりにくかった BCGControlBar のカスタマイズを捨て、分かりやすいカスタマイズ方法 を提供する予定です。Sleipnir Wiki にあげていただいている要望をもとに、さらなるカスタ マイズ性を提供できるようします。プラグインによる機能追加で、アプリケーションの速度を落 とすことなく機能追加を実現しています。もちろん Sleipnir の特徴でもあったスクリプトでの 拡張もサポートします。

軽さ
重さのもとになった BCGControlBar を外し、全て自作しています。
Sleipnir の他に BCGControlBar を採用したブラウザが出てきたため、独自性を出すた
めにも、手抜きをせずにキーカスタマイズ、ツールバー、ドッキングコントロールを自作する
ことにしました。また、動作環境を Windows に限定することで、余計なコードを挟むこと
なく高速な動作を実現します。

安定性
全てのモジュールを十分にテストし、不具合だらけの新バージョンにならないように
気をつけています。

拡張性
PictBear SE や今までの経験を活かし、プラグインによる全体的な機能拡張を追加しました。
全体への影響が出る部分は高速なプラグインで、簡単な機能は作成しやすいスクリプトによ
る拡張を予定しています。

デザイン
Sleipnir よりもスキンの適用範囲を広げています。
もちろん Windows XP のテーマにも対応しています。

シンプル
不必要な機能は全て外せるように、全てプラグインとして提供します。
プラグインのインストールの手間を省けるように、標準で Sleipnir と同等の機能をプリイン
ストールしています。全てのプラグインを外すと Internet Explorer と同等まで機能削
減できるようにする予定です。

セキュリティ
Sleipnir でも ActiveX や Javascript を OFF にしておき、必要なときのみ有効にすること
でIE のエンジンを使用してもある程度セキュアにできましたが、これをもう少し分かりやすく
した機能を搭載する予定です。

なんとも楽しみだ。現在のsleipnirでも十分に使えるブラウザだが、一体どういった姿で現れるのだろうか!?
