Gmailアカウント使用はギルドの特権？

いいものを持っていても他人には簡単には譲らない。自分とその仲間たちだけが甘い汁を吸えるというのは、ギルドの制度そのものだ。そしてGmailは人気の高いウェブメールでありながらアカウントを獲得できるのはすでにGmailアカウントを持つ人から紹介された一部の人間だけ。そう考えるとGmailアカウントというのは奇妙なものだ。

フリーメールでありながらなんとなくアカウントを持っていることが特別であるような気にさせてしまう。技術的にもストレージ的にも問題があるとは考えにくいから、招待制を頑なに維持するこの方法はもしかするとGmailブランドの高級意識を根付かせたいグーグル様の戦略なのかもしれない。

アカウント招待券を譲っていただきました。

とあるブログ執筆者の方からアカウントを譲っていただきました。相手の人はリアルでは会ったことのないオンライン上での知人(?)ですが、Gmailアカウントを持っていることを知っていたのでメールでお願いをしてみたのだ。かつては一人3枚しか発行できなかった招待状は今のところ50枚まで紹介できるのでかなりGmailアカウントも普及してきている様子。

僕もアカウントをとったので早速招待状を発行しようかと思ったけれど、アカウントを作ってすぐは招待状を発行できないらしい。まぁ、アカウントを作ってすぐに招待できるなら自分で自分を招待してアカウントの無限増殖が出来るしな～。

ということで、これからこのアカウントをどう使おうか考え中なのだ。ところで、次に欲しいのはmixiアカウント。これも招待制なのだけど、だれか僕をmixiに誘ってくれないかしらん。

Aw, this was a really nice post. In concept I want to put in writing like this moreover – taking time and actual effort to make a very good article… however what can I say… I procrastinate alot and certainly not appear to get one thing done.
