Sleipnir作者が会社設立。「Fenrir（フェンリル株式会社）」

かねてより6月中のアルファ版もしくはベータ版を公開を目標として開発しているとのことを自信のブログ上で公言していた柏木氏だが、この会社設立に関してはこれまでコメントはなく21日の氏のブログ上ではじめて知ったという人がほとんどではないだろうか。

現在ではフェンリル株式会社の複数人でSleipnirの次期ブラウザを開発していて、単身で開発していた頃に比べて数倍の速さで開発が進んでいると自身の驚きもブログに書かれている。

とりあえず会社設立によって開発者の善意に頼りっぱなしだったブラウザ開発の土台となる組織ができあがったということがわかったと同時に、このブラウザにかける柏木氏の意気込みも片手間ではなく本気であるということが明らかになった。ただ一つ希望を述べるとするならば、あまりに営利目的に走ってSleipnirのフリーソフトとしての良かった点を失わないで欲しいということ。これまでもフリーからシェアウェアなど営利目的化した結果ユーザー離れを招いたソフトウェアは数限りなく存在していたので…。
