今回のバージョンはmacromediaがAdobeとの合併を発表してから初のmacromedia大型タイトル。中身のバージョンアップ具合は公式サイトで確認してもらうとして、それ以外のところでの変更は、大きなところではアップグレードポリシーの変更。これまではエデュケーション版（学割版）から通常版へのアップグレードも可能だったのが今回から不可能になっている。アップグレード目的で卒業間際に前バージョンのMX2004を買った人には残念な結果だ。もう一つはクロスアップグレードが出来るようになっていること。Dreamweaver旧バージョンを持っていればFlash Proの最新バージョンをアップグレードで買えるようだが、これもサイトで明記されている文章は読む人によって解釈が分かれそうな曖昧な文章なのでなんとも断言しにくい。

また目立つ変更としてはFlashが8万円以上へと大幅に値上げされた一方で、基本的な機能に絞ったFlash Basicが2万5千円程度で発売されている。これはPhotoshopとPhotoshop Elementsの関係にあたり、プロでもないただのFlash愛好家はBasicを使ってなさいってコトだろうか？

価格としては全体的に大幅に値上げになっていて、良心的なmacromedia価格からプロ向け価格設定のAdobe流へという潮流の変更がかいま見える。学割版も値上げされていて僕も手出ししにくく、寂しい限りだ。
