市街地無線LANが普及して欲しい

このところ本業の関係で地元京都を離れて大阪にいることが多い。すると苦労するのがネット環境の確保。今のところ、電力会社系PHS（k-opti.com）とWILLCOM系PHS（b-mobile）の両方の契約をしているのだけれど、これだと最大でも128kbps通信しか出来ない。日頃はBフレッツで20Gbps出る環境に暮らしていると、画像が一斉にでなく上から徐々に徐々に表示されてくる緩慢さがたまらなくストレスに感じられる。せめて1.5GbpsのADSLくらいのスピードは欲しいもの。

かといっていちいちネットカフェにゆくのもコストパフォーマンスが悪い。僕は使っているプロバイダがOCNなのでJRの駅ホットスポットやモスバーガーの無線LANは従量制ながら使うことは出来るのだけど、やっぱり無料で使えたらなぁと思うのであります。

京都のみあこネットのような大規模フリーアクセスな無線LANがもっと普及すれば、ノートパソコンさえあれば町中どこからでも仕事が出来、skype携帯電話なんてものも普及するだろうに。東京ではホリエモンが大規模な無線LANをやってくれそうだけど、それがキッカケとなって日本中にその機運が広がらないかなぁ？
