僕は日本語ランキングでは「ブログ」とか「iPod」とか今年流行ったものが来ると思っていたのだが、「電車男」だとはやや意外だった。書籍化され、映画やテレビドラマになって、一般人が「電車男って何？」ってなったことで検索数が増えたんだろうか。それでも今年の初めは「ブログって何？」って感じだったのに今では自分のブログを持っている人も多そうで、ブログが一気に普及したという点では今年はブログの一年だったと言っても悪くないと思う。

それにしてもインターネットはすっかりみんなの生活に定着した。クルマを持っているとか、犬を飼っているとか、コンタクトレンズを使っているとか、そういう当たり前のことと並ぶようにインターネットを使うことが語られる時代が来た？僕が初めてインターネットに触れたのは2000年の1月頃、ダイアルアップで入試のセンター試験速報を見たのが最初だけど、そのころから比べると僕もかなりネット依存度が高まった。今では手で文字を書く量の100倍くらいをキーボードで書くようになり、調べごとはWikipediaや2chログ検索を使うこともある。友達との連絡もバイトもネット経由で行っている。スゴい時代が来たもんだ。
