LenovoがThinkブランドを脱却した独自パソコンを販売開始へ

そもそもIBMが収益力の伸びにくいハードウェア部門を切り離してコンサルティングやシステム構築などのソフト面を主体する経営に特化するためにLenovoにThinkブランドを売り払ったわけだが、こんなに早くLenovoが自社ブランドを展開したとなると、IBM側はThinkブランドの製造技術だけをうまいこと盗まれた感じになってしまっていないか？

IBM側としてはLenovoがThinkブランドでパソコンを作り続ければ自社にも継続的なライセンス収入が期待できたかもしれない。逆にLenovoとしてはThinkブランドのパソコンを作るライセンスを得ることで自社はIBMの先進技術を手に入れて知名度を向上させることが出来た。つまり、LenovoがThinkブランドのパソコンを使うことでIBMもLenovoも両社両得な関係を維持できたはずだった。

それなのに、Lenovoがこんなにも早くThinkブランドを脱却しようとしているとなると、IBMは今後継続して得られたかもしれなかったライセンス収入を得ることは出来なくなるのに対して、Lenovo側は得るべきIBMの技術やノウハウはすっかり手に入れてしまったので失うものは多くはない。中国の弱小企業にすぎなかった聯想が格安で世界の最先端を行くパソコン製造技術をうまく手に入れたわけで、さすが中国商人はやることが（ryという感じがしなくもない。

IBMもある程度はこうなることを見通していたとは思うけれど、本当にこれで良かったのか？Thinkブランド自体がなんだかダメにされているようで、ThinkPadを愛用している者の一人としてはなんだか寂しいような悔しいような気持ちでいる。
