Winnyノード数急減に見るP2P環境の変化

京都府警によって金子氏が逮捕されて一時はWinnyノード数がガクッと落ち込んだ時期があったが、今回はそれと比べてもさらに大きく接続できるノード数が減っているように感じる。見せしめ的な逮捕では動揺しなかったWinnyユーザーたちも。自分のパソコンから情報が駄々漏れになるということが報じられてさすがに足を洗うことにしたか。

もっとも、Winnyウイルスに感染しないための自衛手段としてはこれはおそらく最も賢明な判断だし、法的にもかなり怪しいソフトウェアだから使うことを辞めたことは褒められるべきことなのかもしれない。

一方で、Winny暴露ウイルスなんてものはずっと昔からあってネット上ではウイルスに感染した人のパソコンから流出したデジカメ画像をアップロードする専用の掲示板なんて者もあったのだから、今年になって急にWinnyウイルスの被害が報じられるようになったのはマスコミと業界（レコード業界？）とが結びついて何か働きかけをしているんじゃないかという勘ぐりも働かないわけではない。

いずれにせよ、P2Pを取り巻く環境が激動していることは間違いない。すぐにWinnyネットワークが消えてしまったり新たなP2Pソフトウェアが登場するとは思わないが、何か大きな変化が起こることは間違いない。おそらく再び、レコード業界などが期待する方向とは別の方向に向かって行くことだけは間違いない気がする。
