今となってはlivedoorが強みを発揮できるのはlivedoorブログただ一つと言っても過言ではない。著名人ブログもlivedoorの魅力の一つだったが、ホリエモンが証券取引法違反で逮捕されたときにいくらかの著名人はlivedoorを離れてしまってここも勢いがない。そもそもYahoo!やOCNなど比較的老舗とされるネット企業でもブログサービスが当たり前になり、livedoorブログはもはやアピール力を持ったレンタルブログではなくなっている。アダルト情報でも比較的寛容に扱われることくらいしか他社と比べたメリットがない。

果たして、どうなってゆくことやら。元気のないlivedoorを見ていると、なんとも寂しい気持ちがしてくるように思う。
