楽天証券のWikipedia記事改竄が経済ニュースにも

楽天証券の姿勢を皮肉な形で世に知らしめることになってしまった。金融庁から楽天証券が受けた行政処分に関する文章が記載されていたWikipediaの楽天証券のページから、行政処分に関する文章だけを削除したらしい。そしてその半月後に再び行政処分の加筆が成されたが、その後再び楽天証券がこの記述を削除してしまっている。

Wikipediaはその公平性などを担保するために、加筆をした者のIPなどが公開される仕様となっているから、楽天証券が自社に不利益な記述を削除した犯人であることはすでに判明している。自社がこのような処分を受けていたことがあまり知られたくない過去であることはわかるけれど、Wikipediaでこういう改竄を行うと、めざといネットユーザーに見つかったときの火消しが大変だと言うことを楽天証券は想像できなかったのだろうか。

また、http://blog2.netshoken.com/2006/08/26/1200.htmlによると、楽天証券が自信を持っているトレーディング専用ソフト「マーケットスピード」に関する弱点（楽天証券のサーバ能力が弱いためにデイトレードに不利であるという点）も楽天証券のIPから削除されてしまっているが、こちらは企業に対する中傷の恐れもあるからか、削除されたこと自体はそれほど批判の対象になっていないっぽい。

過去にWikipediaでの改竄論損というと、音楽アーティストのL'Arc-en-CielのHydeの「身長156cm事件」が有名だ。イケメンで人気も高かったが身長の低さが唯一のコンプレックスだった（と思われる）Hydeの身長が156cmであることをWikipediaに書き込んだ2chねらーと、ファンまたは事務所のスタッフと思われる人物によるこの身長記述の削除が、際限ない書き換え合戦になって、ネット上でいわゆる「祭り」となった。下のリンク先のブログがこの事件について詳しく書いている。

楽天証券の記事改竄はそのような祭りとはなっていないが、本日チェックしたところ、Wikipediaの楽天証券のページには、この行政処分の記述のみならず、この行政処分の記事を書き換えたことがニュースになってしまったということまで書かれている。楽天証券にとっては、自業自得ではあるが、皮肉たっぷりの黒歴史を生み出す羽目になってしまったわけだ。
