証券夜間市場にも勝ち負けの格差。GMOがイートレード夜間市場に参加

そもそも、イートレード証券・松井証券・楽天証券・カブドットコム証券・オリックス証券などが加盟しているネット証券評議会は数年前から東京証券取引所に夜間市場の開設を求めていた。オンライン証券の主要な客層であるサラリーマンなどが、積極的な売買を行えるように自宅にいる時間帯に証券市場を開いて欲しいという願いだ。

従来の前場（9:00～11:00）と後場（12:30～15:00）ではサラリーマンなどの層は勤務中なので、デイトレードをはじめとした積極的な売買ができない。サラリーマンが家にいる時間帯の夜間市場を開設して、より多くの手数料を落として貰おうという考えだった。ところが、オンライン証券ではない従来型の対面証券では夜間市場の開設はそのままモロに人件費の増加に跳ね返ってくるほか、ただでさえオンライン証券に押されている市場シェアをさらにさらわれかねないと警戒して、この東証による夜間市場開設に強く反対していた。結局、東証は夜間市場の開設は当面は行わないという方向で決着したようだが、このバックには対面証券のドンである野村證券から相当な圧力があったと言われているみたい。

で、仕方がないからオンライン証券会社が自分たちで私設市場を作って、東証に頼らない夜間市場を開設しようということになった。もっとも先行したのがカブドットコム証券PTSだが、カブドットコム証券が占める市場売買シェアはわずかに3％ほどなので、いささか売買高の点でこの市場は頼りなさそう。本命のイートレード証券・楽天証券・SBI証券が開始する夜間市場は、3社で市場売買シェアが50％を超える連合なので売買の流動性という点でも問題なく期待が持てそう。そして最後発が松井証券PTSで、こちらは代金即時受け渡しがうり（従来の市場は3日後の受け渡し）の新タイプの私設市場だけれども、そもそも東証と受け渡しまでのタイムラグが異なるので資金効率が悪そうで、これはコケるんじゃないかという気がする。

GMOインターネット証券がイートレードその他の夜間市場に加わることで、夜間市場の勝ち負けの趨勢は決したに思える。その他、オンライン証券で強いところには野村證券系のジョインベスト証券があるが、こちらは夜間市場反対派のドンである野村證券資本がふんだんに入っているので、どこの夜間市場にも当面は属さなさそう。売買の流動性が低い市場は、買いたいときに変えない、売りたいときに売れないという致命的な欠陥を持った証券取引所ということになってしまって客が集まってこない。夜間市場にも早くもこれだけの差が生まれてきている。今回の報道は、インターネットの世界での勝ち負けが決まるまでのスピード感を体感させるニュースとなった。
