GoogleがもうすぐYoutube買収を発表

先週末には、買収の確率はよくて40％と書かれていた（http://japan.cnet.com/column/somethingnew/story/0,2000067121,20265007,00.htm）のに、結局どれもそれもあとから思い返してみれば、こういう噂が出ている時点ですでに話はかなり進んでいたんだろう。

それにしてもYoutubeは著作権問題などを理由になかなか良い買い手が付かず困っていたのかと思いきや、いまのネット企業のトップもトップ、王者Googleに買収して貰えたのだからたいしたもんだ。GoogleはGoogle Videoで苦戦していたことが動画SNSのYoutube買収に繋がったのだと言われているが、確かにこれがGoogleのガジェットの一つとなるとGoogleにとっても悪い話ではなさそう。

ただし、今では法律の問題も何も事実上ないのと同じ無政府状態的な場所になっているYoutubeが、Googleによって管理が厳しくなる恐れはある。今までが自由すぎたと言えばそれまでなのだけど、Youtubeのいまの魅力が永久に続くとはとても思えない。

さてさて、GoogleがYoutubeにどんな付加価値を付けて提供してくれるのか、いまからちょっと楽しみになってきたぞ。
