自作PCファンに朗報。MicrosoftがVistaの移管回数制限撤回

これまでのMicrosoftの広報するところによると、Vistaではパソコンのハードウェア構成を大きく変えたときはライセンスの移管ができるがその回数に制限が付くというものだった。XPであればパソコンの買い換えやハードウェアの交換の際に新しくOSを買い直さなくても、旧パソコンのOSを抜いて新パソコンにそれを移動させることが可能だった。これがVistaではOSの買い直しが求められるということと報じられていたので、一年に何度も自分のパソコンのハードウェア構成を変える自作PCファンとしてはOSをすぐに買い直さなければならなくなる可能性があったので、あちこちで反対の声が上がっていた。

それが、Microsoftが今回の決定によってXPと同じように旧パソコンから新パソコンへのOSの移動では新しいライセンスを購入しなくても良いと公表したことで、自作PCファンの多くが安堵したのではないだろうか。というか、僕自身が大いに安堵した。マザーボードを買い換えるたびに何万円もするOSを買い直すことを求められていては、とても財布がついて行けない。今回の決定でようやくVistaでも自作PCを続けることが出来るようになりそうだ。
