Intel Core2Duo搭載のMac Bookが本格的に普及し始めた

自宅のデスクトップもWindows、モバイルノートもWindows、実家の家族もみんなWindowsで、職場もWindows。僕の周りにはMac関連のものはiPodくらいしかない（iPodすらもUSB2.0を採用した時点で半分Windowsに魂を売ったと思っている）。Macを使っている友人が、自宅で作ってUSBメモリで持参し職場のパソコンで開こうとして互換性問題に悩んでいるのを見ると、心の中で「だからWindowsにしておけばいいのに」と思うくらい、染まってしまっている。

しかしWindowsは、デザインのちょっと良い感じなSONY製ノートは中身がアレだから買いたくないし、中身がしっかりしているビジネスパソコンはデザインが無機質だし、それに比べると使い勝手もデザインもこなれているMacのノートはちょっと羨ましい気持ちもある。ないと言ったらウソになる。

だいたい、Windowsマシンを作るメーカーも高い給料を払ってでもAppleがやっているようにデザイナーにお金を掛ければいいと思うんだけど、なかなかそうは行かないらしい。となるとBoot CampでWindowsを起動するか？って問題になるけれど、それはイヤだ。

いったい何が書きたいのかよくわからなくなってきた。とにかく、職場のパソコンがWindowsに統一されている現状では、仕事上、僕がMacに宗派替えすることは出来ないけれど、このCore2Duo搭載Mac Bookはちょっと羨ましい、ということを書きたかったのだ。

「通」に言わせると、MacのノートはMac Book ProよりもMac Bookらしい。もちろんカタログスペックはMac Book Proのほうが素晴らしいけれど、ケースを開けてハードウェアレベルで弄くり倒したいマニアにとっては、冗長性の高いMac Bookのほうが遊べるらしい。CPUを換えたりとか。まあ、有り余る資金力で壊れてもいいMac Bookを買ってみた人は、いろいろ遊んで試してみて欲しい。

Sick! Just received a brand-new Pearl and I can now read your blog on my phone’s browser, it didn’t perform on my previous 1.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.
