MovableType3.34日本語版がリリースされた

今回の新バージョンは従来のMovableTypeにあったタグ脆弱性などを修正したもの、ということだけど、3.33はもともと非常に安定したバージョンで（重くてサーバに優しくないツールではあるが）、大きな問題は見られなかった。2.661で終了したMovableType 2.x系も安定していたが、3.x系に入ってからはしばしばバグが報告されていたようなのでこれでひとまず3.x系も安定し始めたか。

WordPressなどの対抗馬も一時の勢いを失ってしまって、そもそもブログブーム自体が成熟してきたのか枯れてきたのか、やや落ち着いてきた。個人の日記的な使い方をするブログはmixiに吸収されて行ったものもあるし、そうでないものも長く続いているものは一定のファンをつけて安定飛行状態に入っている。いまさら新バージョンに目新しい機能を搭載したMovableTypeが出てきたところで、ユーザはあまりそれに対して関心を寄せないかも知れない。

そういう意味では、今回のバージョンアップは地味だが、地味で良かったかも知れない。MovableTypeは十分に成熟している。Windowsで言えばWindows 2000のような、地味だけどしっかり者、みたいなツールのほうが僕は好感を持てる。
