ニコニコ動画はYoutubeにアク禁されて終了

2月20日の段階でサーバがDDoS攻撃を受けたためサービス休止と公表していたが、その時点ですでにニュース速報＠2ch掲示板などではニコニコ動画がYoutubeからアクセス遮断されているという噂は流れていた。

ニコニコ動画のサービスはYoutubeのflash動画を引っ張ってきて自サイトで公開し、ニコニコ動画を訪れた人々がその動画にコメントをつけられるというもの。異なる時間にその動画を見ていても同じ動画の同じ場面にコメントを挿入できるので祭りのように盛り上がりやすく、お笑い動画や人気アニメや音楽プロモーションビデオなどが扱われていた。ハルヒの「ハレ晴れユカイ」のように以前からネット上で人気の高かったものも少なくないが、「陰陽師」や「魔理沙は大変なものを盗んでいきました」や「とかちつくちて」や「おっくせんまん」などのようにニコニコ動画で一気にブレイクしたものもある（これらの動画を見たい人はYoutubeに直接ゆけばまだ見ることができますが、何百というコメントがないので盛り上がりに欠けるかも）。

Youtubeの立場に立てば、自分のところのサーバにアップロードされている動画を他社のサイト上で勝手に上映され、鯖や回線には自社で負荷がかかるのにビジターは増えないので広告収入は期待できないという最悪の使われ方をしたサービスだったということになる。それを考えてみても、ニコニコ動画がYoutubeからアクセス禁止されるのは時間の問題だったとも言えるが、ネット上では当初はニコニコ動画はYoutubeに了解を取っているという話も出ていたみたい。まあ、他人のサーバ資源にただ乗りしたこれほどウマい商売はやはり長続きはしないのが当然ということでしょう。

それにしても、ニコニコ動画のあっという間のブレイクとあっという間の終焉。「マイケルジャクソン版ハレ晴れユカイ」や「陰陽師＋魔理沙は大変なものを盗んでいきました」が祭りになったのが2月第1週～第2週頃である。ニコニコ動画の運営元であるニワンゴのさらに親会社であるドワンゴの株価は2月に入ってから50％以上急騰しているが、ニコニコ動画のブレイクで一気に集まった投資家の期待もYoutubeからのアク禁でメイン事業がこけたとなると一気に冷めることだろう。見えるはずのない株価の将来を予測することはナンセンスではあるが、おそらく月曜日からドワンゴの株価は急落するのではないだろうか。空売りしようとしたら信用規制のかかっている銘柄だったらしく、それだけが唯一のドワンゴにとっての救いになったか。
