PC電源 KEIAN 「KST-420BKV SLI」は故障していなかった

その時点では何がおかしいのかよくわかっていなかったが、ふと電源からマザーボードへのケーブルを見たところ、なにやら基盤との設置部にあたる24pinがぐらついているではないか。ぐらついているところをグッと押し込んで接触不良を是正してやると、何事もなかったかのようにパソコンは立ち上がった（当たり前）。要するに、電源ユニットの故障と僕が勝手に決めつけていたのは、単なるケーブルの接触不良なのだった。

昨日もあのエントリーを書いた後、悶々とした気持ちでデスクトップパソコンの本体を開けて中を見ていたのだが、どうも単なる電源の故障とは思えない奇妙な現象が起こっていた。ちょうど今週、買っておいたHDD（日立GST T7K500）へ交換したばかりだったのだが、ケース内に手を突っ込んでいろいろいじっていると調子がよくなったり悪くなったりする。主電源ボタンを押すとウィィーンと音を立てて一度は動き出すが、また数秒すると力が抜けたようにファンの回転が落ちてディスプレイは再び暗転する。そのときはいったいどうしたものかとずいぶん悩んだのだが。

パソコンのような高度に最新テクノロジーが詰め込まれた精密機械でも、動かなくなる要因はミニ四駆などと大して変わらない要因であることがしばしばあるみたい。今回のことはいい教訓になった。新しく注文した電源を購入してしまう前に原因を発見できて、良かったといえば良かったのだ。
