Gmailのラベルとアーカイブという機能が素晴らしい件

数週間前のこと。Gメールの使い方がわかる本という本を書店で見かけたのでパラパラとめくっていた。「てやんでぃ！この程度のアンチョコ解説本なら、おれでも24時間あれば書けらぁ！！」という傲慢な態度でページをめくっていたのだけれど、ふと目にとまったのがGメールを使った情報管理術。具体的な内容をここに書いてしまうと本書の著者に訴えられてしまうので詳しく知りたい方は書店にてご自身で確認していただきたいが、メールをすぐにどんどんとラベル付けし、受信トレイをToDoリストのような使い方をする情報管理術が掲載されていたのだ。

それまでは尊大な気持ちでページをめくっていたのが、そのページで急に「これは良いかもしれないぞ」と思うようになったのだ。結局、それまでは（WebメールとしてのGmailもときに併用しつつも）メインは本家Outlookだったのが、今ではついにmailtoの関連づけをGmailに変更してしまうほどになってしまった。いまでもこのGmailによる情報管理術は続いている。

これまではOutlookが僕のメーラーであり手帳でありToDoリストだった。一日のはじめは、起床してからコーヒーのお湯が沸くまでの間、Outlookを立ち上げてメールをチェックするのが日記だったのだが、ここ数週間はGmailにアクセスするのが一日のスタートになっている。

自分に合う情報の整理の仕方はいつくもあるはずなので自分にあった方法を模索していけばいいのだが、Gmailがこれほど工夫次第でどんどん使いやすく変化するとは予想外だった。あとはOutlookにはあったカレンダーへのドラッグドロップが、GmailとGoogle Calendarの間で出来るようになれば言うこと無しなのだが…。

フラグ機能はOutlookやその他のメーラーにも付いているはず。今まで十分使いこなしてきた人には何も言わないけれど、これまでメールを貯めるばかりだった人はこのフラグやタグやラベルをうまく使うことで、情報がスッキリ整理できるようになるヒントを見つけられるんじゃないかと思う。いちど、お試しあれ！

まだまだ、詳しい使い方に習熟していませんが、
今のところ一番満足していることは

迷惑メールやジャンクメールを50件一括削除出来ることです。
更に受信メールの仕分けもせず、メール内検索で必要なメールは直ぐ呼び出せます。
