Windows XP から Vista へ移行したくない人は少なくない

僕の使っているパソコン3台（デスクトップ2台と Thinkpad 2台）はいずれも Windows XP だ。そのうちのデスクトップ機に関しては、一度は Windows Vista に移行した後で Windows XP をリカバリしたものだ。Windows 2000 を使っていた頃は Windows XP に移行する必要性も特に感じていなかったが、ClearType や USB メモリを引き抜いても警告画面が出ない（書き込みキャッシュ無効にできる点）など Windows XP に移行したメリット点も少しは実感できた。6年間？も使い込んでいるうちにすっかり Windows XP は手に馴染んで、敢えてこの環境を捨てるだけのメリットは思いつかない。

Windows XP から Windows Vista へ移行するメリットはなんだろうか？特に思い当たらないなぁ。ファイル名を変更するときに拡張子がデフォルトでは選択されてないということくらいだろうか。

そういえば、このブログも MovableType 3.37 で運営されているんだった。これも MovableType 4.2 に移行せず、はたまた WordPress にも移行せずにいる。どちらも一度は試してみた上で、敢えて旧バージョンに居座っている。だって使いやすいんだもの。ソフトウェア開発者にとって、保守派に新しいソフトウェアを使わせるのは、なかなか大変なことらしい。
