旧WWFカードのデザインはもう復活しないのか

旧WWFカードはデザインに野生動物が描かれていた。一般カードではゾウ・トロピカルフィッシュ・ペンギンのうちから一種類を選ぶことが出来た。セレクトカードはシマウマの親子、ゴールドカードでは百獣の王であるライオンがカードフェイスとなっている。いずれも単色刷のシンプルな券面ながら、品の良い落ち着いた雰囲気を持っているデザイン。クレジット板@2ちゃんねる掲示板などでは特にセレクトカードの人気が高かったようだ。

僕はゾウの一般カードを持っている。このカード、僕は有効期限が2012年まであるのだが、有効期限が来て切り替えられた後は現行のWWFロゴがフェイスとなっているカードに強制的に移行させられることだろう。旧WWFカードのデザインを非常に気に入っていたのだが、正直なところ新WWFカードのデザインは今ひとつ惹かれない。普通にショッピングをするだけで自分の財布からの直接の出費はなくともWWFへの0.5%の寄付が出来るという特典は素晴らしいとは思うけれど、カードデザインの難点のせいで、敢えて今後もWWFカードを使い続ける意味があるのかという気もする。

できることなら旧WWFカードのデザインを再発行して欲しいものだ。カードデザインの版権やデザイナーとの契約の問題もあるのだろうか。UCカードに問い合わせた人に聞いたところでは、もう旧デザインの発行は受付をしていないとのこと。需要は必ずある。旧デザインのカードを、再び登場させて欲しいと切に願っている。
