僕は自分の携帯電話（新しいもの好きのくせに未だにSH902iだ！）のおサイフケータイ機能にiDを登録している。自宅に最も近いコンビニがファミリーマートで利用頻度も圧倒的にファミマが多いので、登録してあるのはファミマカードiDである。ポイント還元率はファミリーマート以外で使用すると0.5%だが、ファミリーマートで使用すると還元率は1.5%（現在はキャンペーン中で実質2.5%）となり、曜日によって割引があったりキャンペーンがあったりと還元率以外の利点も少なくない。

しかしポイント還元率がどうのこうのではなく、決済に掛かる時間が短いのが非常に素晴らしい点。非接触ICカードがあまり普及していなかった初期は店頭で「iD払いで！」と言っても店員が戸惑うばかりのことが多かったけれど、最近はコンビニ店員もずいぶんと電子マネーの扱いになれてきたのか「iDで！」というとしっかりすぐに通じる。電子決済するのに掛かる時間は2～3秒だ。現金で払うのに比べて釣り銭を貰う手間もないので簡単。

まだおサイフケータイを使っていない人にはぜひオススメしたい便利機能だ。もっとも、普段よく訪れる店でこれらの電子マネーを扱っていないと話にならないのだが。
