ドコモショップにバッテリーをもらいに行った

実のところ使用しているSH902iはバッテリーがやや膨張してきており、カバーをしていても裏面の下半分（受話口半分）が少し盛り上がっているのが見て分かる。膨張したバッテリーを使って大丈夫なのか、破裂する心配はないのかという気持ちはあるが、2ch掲示板などの情報によるとSH902iのバッテリーが膨張するのはよくあることで「仕様」の範囲内なので交換対象とはならないのだという。SONY等のノートパソコンのバッテリーが破裂したというようなニュースを見た記憶もあり、ふくらんだバッテリーをした携帯電話を耳に当てて通話するのは気持ちの良いものではない。

それはともかくとして、バッテリーの切れが非常に早くなっており支障を来していた。電池が3目盛りの状態で5時間程度は持つので全く使用できないわけではないのだが、このバッテリー目盛りが3目盛りから2目盛りになったと思ったら1分程度で1目盛りになって電池切れになって電源が切れる。3目盛りから2目盛りになったら今まさに書いている途中のメールを送信完了することもできないうちに電池が切れてしまうので、これは少し困る。書きかけのメールが消えてしまってイラッ☆としたことも数知れず。

ドコモが2年以上同一機種を使っている人を対象に無料でバッテリー交換サービスをしているというのは知っていたが、僕の携帯電話のSH902iは白ロムをヤフオクで購入したものだったのだから同一機種の2年継続使用も何もないわけだから期待はしていなかったが、とにかく現在のバッテリーの持ちでは仕事をするにも困るので自腹を切るつもりでバッテリーを買いに行ったところ、自宅に無料で送ってくれるというのだ。ドコモはこういう小さいサービスはこそこそ頑張っていると思う。

バッテリーといえば、Thinkpad X40の大容量バッテリーを買いたいと思っている。新幹線でよく長距離移動をするが、コンセントがついているN700系の窓側席を常に確保できるとも限らず、せめて新幹線をよく利用する岡山京都間の60分あまりは問題なく使用できる程度にはバッテリーの持ちを改善したいのだ。
