Movable TypeとWordPressはWPの圧勝のようだ

先日書店にゆきブログ関連の書籍が並ぶ棚に行ったところ、最近出版されている書籍のほとんどがWordPress関連だ。Movable Type関連の新刊書はあまりお目にかかれない。また様々なブログツールが世の中にはあるが、たとえばTwitterと連動するツールを探したところでヒットするものも圧倒的にWordPressが多い。フリーのデザインテンプレートなどももちろんそう。

このブログはWebページの一番下を見ていただければわかるように、未だにMovable Type 3.37で動いている。いまやMovable Typeも5.01まで登場しているが、アップデートが面倒くさいのと、そもそもこのMovable Typeは管理画面から編集可能なテンプレートのみならずそもそものHTMLやPHPにも手を入れたりしていることもあってアップデートしたらこれらがまた元通りになってしまうのが困るので、このままにしている。特に不便は無い。記事の投稿だけなら3.37のほうがよっぽど簡単にできるし、大規模なSNSを構築するわけでもないので現状のままでまあまあ満足している。

しかし新しく出てくる連携ツール（いまの場合はたとえばTwitterプラグイン）などは新しいバージョンの、特に最も普及しているブログパブリッシングツールでしか沢山が出てこないので、こまる。WordPressへの移行は比較的簡単にできるようだが、それでもやっぱりテンプレートの調節などをしているとかなり時間は取られるだろうから、引越は躊躇するのだ。
