僕はWillcomユーザーでした

Willcomがまだ初々しかった頃には月額2900円のウィルコム定額プランで通話料が24時間無料というのは非常に魅力的なプランだった。家族同士で、恋人同士で、あるいは仕事上で頻繁にやりとりをする人たち同士で、Willcomを契約している人は少なくなかっただろう。しかしこの2年間でソフトバンクもドコモも家族内通話は無料にできるようになったし、イーモバイルも携帯電話通話が定額でできるプランをWillcomより遙かに安価で提供し始めた。自宅での通話を想定しているのであれば、skypeだってある。Willcomを敢えて使用するメリットがなくなってきた。

月額2900円で話し放題というのは意外に高い。携帯電話で通話料の安めのプランで考えると、大ざっぱに1時間半～2時間程度は通話できる金額だ。1日5分を週5回かけても月に2時間にはならない。月額2900円を払ってももとがとれるようになろうと思うと結構長時間の通話をする必要がある。普通は平日毎日5分以上の電話をかける相手なんてそうそういないんじゃないだろうか。となるとWillcomを契約する必要ないんじゃない？ってことになってしまう。

携帯電話各社が家族内通話をどんどん値引きしているのにWillcomがウィルコム定額プランの値下げをしなかったから、顧客離れがすすんだのはある意味当然の帰結。サービスの品質が飛び抜けて良いわけではないのだから、価格も相応に落ち着くべきで、それをしなければ価格競争に負けてしまうだろう。機種交換や新規加入からの2年縛りが解ければユーザはかなりの割合がWillcomを離れてしまうのではないかと思える。

僕も、Willcomの解約を予定している。通話時間は毎月2時間は軽く超えるが、長時間の通話は自宅でするのがほとんどなので、skypeがあれば十分だと思っている。あえてWillcomにとどまる必要性があまり感じられない。
