Thinkpad X60sを中古で購入した

思えば初めてThinkpad X40を購入したときは大学4回生？のころ、Amazonマーケットプレイスで104000円で購入した。その後のTシリーズ2台は60000円前後。そして今回は初代Thinkpadの購入から5年程度の時間を隔てて25000円でThinkpad X60sが購入できるのである。当時はPentium M 1.0GHzのThinkpad X40がそれでも相当ハイスペックであったように思うのだが、今はCore i7なども登場している時代なのでCore Duoは相当時代遅れな印象も否めない。ほとんどはオフィス文書とブラウザという用途しか使用しないのでスペック不足で困ることもないのだが。Thinkpad X40は今は妻のモバイルPCとして鉄道通勤の日常でかなり活躍している。

ところでThinkpad X60sの難点として無視できないのが発熱問題。特に右パームレストの熱さはかなりのモノ。上に置いている右手のひらが火傷するほどではないが、しかし触れていると温かいというよりは熱い。ネット上の情報を見てみてもThinkpad X60sの発熱問題はかなり話題になっている（なっていた）よう。こればかりは当初の設計の問題なので今からハードウェアをどうこうしたところで改善することはなかなか難しいのだが。

その他には非常に使いやすい、Thinkpad X60sなのであった。
